For over 60 years, Southern Seaplane has trained all their Seaplane Charter Pilots from Rating to Part 135 status. As a result of that process we created safe rules of operation and techniques that are not typically taught to the average seaplane pilot during initial or recurrent training. The Seaplane Safety Institute originated as a means to introduce those techniques and safe rules of operation to all seaplane pilots.  Our goal is to bring the skill level of a seaplane pilot up to the standards of a Charter Seaplane Pilot. The first day you will complete ground school, the second is underwater egress training, and the last day will be 2 hours of flight training.
